What we do

Our central packing facility at Waltham Cross provides the ideal solution for central grading, packing, and distribution and is ideally located just north of the M25. It operates on a 24-hour basis with a full complement of production and quality assurance staff, which drives a quality management system that sets and defines limits of acceptability based on internal and customer specifications.

All product that enters our facility is radio frequency identified (R.F.I.D) on intake and can be tracked and located at any time to ensure it is handled and packed correctly.

There is a live Internet based stock control system with an internal and external customer access facility. We also have video cameras positioned throughout the facility to provide security for staff and product and act as a due diligence referral point.

All automated production lines include the latest stainless steel fabrication packing machinery, for wrapping, multi-head weighing and labelling.  We also have an automated cucumber and celery cutting machine, providing perfect portions for our customers.  We also produce produce sliced and diced products for food processors.  There are also production lines for speciality items requiring extensive hand labour.

High-risk and temperature sensitive products e.g. prepared Salads, etc. are packed in environmentally controlled areas with refined temperature modulating equipment and positive air flow.

The packhouse Production and Quality performance is measured as a service level. These comments are displayed for all staff on a large notice board at the entrance to the work place.

There is a purpose built training and meeting room complex, a crate handling and washing area. We have a maintenance workshop and there is also an on site “fabrication unit” with resident mechanical engineers for the repair of Stubbins own machinery.
